I think making good products is just as important as promoting them well in web3. After seeing District Nine's investment article on Sanctum, I bought SANC, sold it, then bought again, which raised one curiosity: why did this team name the token CLOUD? Business metrics continue to grow, yet why don't people know much about Sanctum, and why is the team trying to raise awareness? Disclosing upfront that I currently hold SANC. First, I checked if the team had performance worth promoting. Sanctum has achieved 12 consecutive quarters of TVL growth in SOL terms through Q3 2026, turned profitable in 2025, and created a metric becoming #1 TVL across Solana's entire DeFi. The problem lay in the CLOUD name. The issue becomes clear just from District Nine's July disclosure article titled "$1.3B of Stake, an $11M Token: Why District 9 Bought $CLOUD". From the title alone, it's hard to immediately understand the relationship with Sanctum. Direct searches make the problem clearer. Searching CLOUD brings cloud computing and AI results first. Even using "Cloud token" as a search term prioritizes Claude and cloud computing explanations. In contrast, searching "Sanctum token" directly connects to project and token information. It was a name that made it difficult for business growth to translate into token interest. The team acknowledged this and proceeded with CLOUD → SANC transition. Not issuing a new token but changing only metadata—name, symbol, logo—while maintaining existing addresses and tokenomics. Basic traffic organization enabling anyone hearing Sanctum to find the SANC ticker in one search. Of course, centralized exchanges still show mixed CLOUD labeling. Supply-side cleanup (link) Of the initial approximately 307M Community Reserve, only approximately 48M tokens were actually distributed over five years. The rest was future utilization resources, but from an investor perspective, it was potential overhang that could hit the market someday. Eventually, through governance, a burn was executed in Singapore on October 6, with the team announcing approximately 25% of total supply was permanently removed. Immediate buying demand
