    [WAX Multichain Bridge, Suspected Hack] Blockchain security firm Blockaid announced via X that a hacking attack appears to be in progress on the WAX (WAXP) network's multichain bridge. Blockaid stated, "The hacker exploited a smart contract withdrawal fee validation vulnerability on the WAX side, creating withdrawal requests without actually paying the assets, and tokens were dispensed according to those requests on the Solana and Ethereum networks. Through a total of 5 transactions, approximately 52,986 USDC, 21,558 USDT, 840 DAI, 2.55 WETH, and 0.11 WBTC were leaked. The vulnerability originated from the withdrawal fee code being designed to accept negative values, and since the related code was not patched, additional attack risks remain," Blockaid explained. -Coinnews
